I'm honestly glad I didn't get to play this until recently... I think if I played it at release, I would've been disappointed. Not to say it isn't a good game, but it's not a great follow-up to the mainline games. I feel that the combat is really good in this game, save for the attractions. The attractions are a bit too much, but I do really like the Formchanges. The worlds are the main point of contention for me, however. They're SO empty. Like, painfully and confusingly empty. Arendelle is one of the worst worlds in the series purely because most of the world is just White. As I'm writing this, I'm in the process of 100% the base game, and I'm in Arendelle finding the chests and lucky emblems. It is SO hard to find my way around purely because everything looks the same. It also doesn't help that it doesn't have the room transitions like the old games, which really helped with finding your way around (I got so excited when I saw the transition in Twilight Town when leaving LMAO). Another issue I have is the pacing. Everything feels so SLOWWWWW. Half of the game is just watching the characters stumble through their lines and stand in place. It's so annoying compared to the older dialogue boxes. It could just be nostalgia, but it's so much easier to read through at your own pace than sit through a cutscene after every fight. At least they're skippable and half of them aren't important. Plus, the end feels rushed compared to the rest of the game. Most of the game is just spent going through worlds for very little reason and then you're just hit with a tidal wave of lore at the end. The end's really good, though. I do enjoy the boss rush, the bosses are all really well designed and fun to fight. The game is 100% worth playing, I just feel that it could be just a bit better if certain parts were more developed. I haven't finished Re:mind (I need to level up and grind out the base game first), but the first section is a really nice addition to the end that adds a lot more. I'm excited to see where KH4 goes since a lot of the newer plot will be expanded on (which is HEAVILY needed).
