Review

Yes, I haven't watched past season 9... but that's because by that point, the show's fallen into such a low point that it's hard to continue. Mulder isn't there, Scully's sidelined, so it's hard to want to continue. Despite that, I think the first 6 seasons are incredible television. A show with 20-something 45-minute long episodes releasing yearly should NOT have this many well-filmed episodes, yet it does. Season 2 is probably my favorite, and has my favorite mix of MOTW and mythology episodes. Once you hit seasons 5-6, though, the mythology episodes start to become pretty bad. Especially once you get to the CSM reveals near the end of 6. The show really shouldn't have continued past either the end of season 8, or the end of season 7 before Mulder gets abducted. ALSO, the fact that it took SEVEN SEASONS for Samantha's plot to be finished just to be hit with the fact that she's been dead the entire time and that everything that's happened prior means absolutely nothing was such bullshit. I'm ok with the fact that she's dead, but it's really something that should've been revealed earlier rather than 7 seasons into the show, where Mulder's been told so many times that she's alive and has even met with her clones. Despite that, Colony/Endgame are some of my favorite mythology episodes. Mulder and Scully are also one of the best TV couples ever... no one matches their freak like they do. The fact that they don't get together until season 7 is absurd, but their relationship is SOOOO good. Like they literally invented shipping. That's how good they are. I really need to finish the rest to update this... I'll just have to power through at some point... maybe this summer...
