Teens of Denial's older cousin that smokes REAL cigarettes. I love this album so much. I have such a strong attachment to Bodys, Cute Thing, and Sober to Death, since they were my first Car Seat Headrest songs. I will say that I prefer the Mirror to Mirror version of Famous Prohphets. But damn, this alubm solidifies that CSH knows how to do long songs REALLY well. Beach Life-in-Death is a 13 minute song that feels like 5. It's one of the few really long song on my playlists that I'll listen to in full whenever it comes on. If Teens of Denial is teen/young adult angst, this album is the mid 20s crisis. It manages to get the emotions across just as well, with a sound that's evolved since then. It has a rougher vibe that gives it a much grittier feel. If you're just getting into CSH, this is the first album to go with. An incredibly good album.
